On the upper left part of the card, we see the actual birthplace of Mozart, which is now a museum. The building, located at No. 9 Getreidegasse, was where the Mozart family resided from 1747 to 1773. Mozart was the seventh child of Leopold Mozart, an accomplished musician. Numerous items are on exhibit, including some of Mozart's first instruments. The card was sent by my dad who visited Salzburg. Thanks Dad!

Postcard from the Netherlands!
Today I got a nice postcard from the Netherlands! The postcard shows a picture by Paul Huf of the flag of the Netherlands. The flag of the Netherlands is unique because it is the oldest tricolor flag still in national use. Variants of it had been in use since the late 16th century but it was only officially formalized in 1937 as the national flag of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The card is an official Postcrossing card, NL-2657353. Thanks Marijke!

Postcard from the United Nations!
Today I got a cool postcard from the United Nations! The postcard, which depicts a street-level view of the Headquarters of the United Nations, was sent from the place itself through the United Nations Postal Administration. The headquarters is a complex in New York City which was completed in 1952. The premises are extraterritorial in nature and are therefore solely administered and governed by the United Nations. John D. Rockefeller, Jr donated the land for the complex and his personal architect oversaw its construction. Thanks Lorraine!
