Postcard from Sweden!

Today I got a cool postcard from Sweden! The vintage postcard shows H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf and the Queen Silvia of Sweden. The photos were taken at the Royal Palace in Stockholm in 1976. King Carl XVI Gustaf was born in 1946 and is the current reigning king of Sweden. Through a law establishing absolute primogeniture, his heir apparent is Crown Princess Victoria, the couple's firstborn. Thanks Jenna!

Today I got a nice postcard from Sweden! The postcard shows multiple views of the province of Småland in southern Sweden. Its name literally means "small lands", which came about because it was originally made up of small independent lands. It spans an area of 29,000 square kilometres and has three national parks. A Swedish dialect known as Småländska is spoken here by its 720,000 inhabitants. Thanks Jessica!

Today I got a nice card from Sweden! The card shows a Swedish summer home. People typically spend their summer holidays in small red wooden houses like the one on the card. Also seen is the Swedish national flag. Thanks Victoria!
