Postcard from Poland!
Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The postcard shows a view of the cathedral in Opole. Opole is a city of 125,000 people in southern Poland. It once was the capital of the region of Upper Silesia. After the First World War, it came under German rule but was turned over to Poland after the Second World War. Many Poles of German descent live in the city today. Thanks Monika!

Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The postcard shows nice views of the historic city of Kraków, Poland's old capital city. Seen on the card are night views of the Cloth Hall, St. Mary's Church, Adalbert's Church, the Town Hall Tower, and the monument of A. Mickiewicz. The city is named after Krakus, its founder and the leader of the tribe of Lechitians. The postcard is an official Postcrossing card, PL-997810. Thanks Urszula!

Postcard from Poland!
Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The postcard shows a nice view of the Western Tatras, which are located along the border of Poland and Slovakia. The ridge is about 37 kilometres long and it is part of the Carpathian Mountains. Its highest point, Bystrá, is about 2,200 kilometres tall. Visitors are only allowed in designated areas and they may not sleep or start fires. The postcard is an official Postcrossing card, PL-956796. Thanks Marlena!

Postcard from Poland!
Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The postcard shows a winter view of the observatory located in the Tatra Mountains. Tatra National Park is located in Tatra county near Slovakia. Its main center is the town of Zakopane and a similarly named park exists in neighboring Slovakia. The highest peak in the country is in this mountain range. The range is characterized by numerous rock formations and sharp peaks. Used were cool stamps showing the Polish military! Thanks Paulina!

Postcard from Poland!
Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The postcard shows multiple views of Ojców National Park, which is located in southern Poland. The park was established in 1956 and is 16 kilometres away from Kraków. It spans only 21 square kilometres and is Poland's smallest national park. The park has many rock formations, as we can see on the card, and a number of castles. The card is an official Postcrossing card, PL-923352. Thanks Kasia!

Postcard from Poland!
Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The postcard shows a beautiful shot of the interior of St. Mary's Basilica. St. Mary's Basilica is located in Kraków and is also known as the Church of Our Lady Assumed Into Heaven. It was originally built in the 13th century and features Gothic architecture. It is known for its intricate wooden altarpiece and for the hourly trumpet signal played from one of its towers. The postcard is an official Postcrossing card, PL-925604. Nice stamps were used! Postcard from Poland!
Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The postcard features a street view in Krajna. Krajna is a forested region situated between three other regions. Part of it is protected land in the form of the Krajna Landscape Park. Used was a great stamp featuring the satellite Brite-PL, which is an abbreviation for BRIght-star Target Explorer - Poland. It is a satellite designed to observe the brightest stars in the night sky. Thanks Ningere!

Postcard from Poland!
Today I got a beautiful postcard from Poland! The postcard shows a night view of Branicki Palace, which is located in Białystok in Poland. It was built and developed by Count Jan Klemens Branicki, a wealthy man who wanted to become the King of Poland. The palace and surrounding grounds were built according to the French standards and style and the place was consequently known as the Versailles of Poland. Nice stamps were used! Thanks Ningere!

Postcard from Poland!
Today I got a beautiful postcard from Poland! The postcard shows a night view of the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, the country's capital city. The building was originally called the Joseph Stalin Palace of Culture and Science since it was built from 1952-1955 during the Soviet era. Stalin's name was later dropped due to destalinization. It is the tallest building in Poland and the eight tallest building in the European Union. It currently serves as an exhibition hall and as an office. A nice Olympics stamp was used! Thanks Gosia!

Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The postcard shows a view of Malbork Castle, which is located by the river Nogat. More formally known as the Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork, it is the largest castle by surface area in the world and is also the largest brick building in Europe. It was completed in 1406 and was built the Teutonic Knights, a German medieval military order. The castle is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thanks Marysia!

Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The postcard shows a beautiful street view in Gdańsk, a city in the Baltic coast. It lies by the Gdańsk Bay and near the cities of Gdynia and Sopot. With these two cities, they form an area called Tricity. The city's rule has changed hands throughout history and has been part of modern Poland since 1945. It has a population of about 460,000 people and its name comes from the Gdania River. Beautiful stamps were used! Thanks Jolanta!

Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The postcard shows an aerial view of the Main Market Square in Kraków. The square is located at the center of the city and is considered to be the largest medieval town square in Europe. In the middle of the square we see Cloth Hall. The square typically bustles with life and currently sits atop the biggest underground museum in the world. The site is part of Old Town Kraków, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Postcard from Poland!
Today I got a nice postcard from Poland! The card shows multiple view of Będzin, with Będzin Castle in the middle. The castle is made of stone and was made in the 14th century. Prior to this, a wooden fortification was present at the site as early as the 11th century. It was an important castle for the Kingdom of Poland. In 1956, the castle was converted into a museum and its primarily collection is on weapons. An interesting stamp from 1999 featuring a skateboarder was used! Thanks Wanda!

The card says that Poland has a population of 38,415,284 people and that is has over 22,000 Postcrossing members. Among other things, it has 9,300 lakes and its highest mountain is Rysy.
