Postcard from Taiwan!
Today I got a nice postcard from Taiwan! The postcard shows a nice sunny view at Chike Mountain. Chike Mountain is located in Yuli Township in Hualien County. It is most known today for its fields of daylilies. Originally, however, it was filled with chike trees, which were used up Japan during their occupation to make gun barrels. The area is now a popular tourist destination. The postcard is an official Postcrossing card, TW-1512729. Thanks Camelia!

Postcard from Taiwan!
Today I got a cool postcard from Taiwan! The postcard features a scene in the Dajia Matsu Holy Pilgrimage. The event is Taiwan's most important religious festival and is done to celebrate Matsu, the goddess of the sea. The pilgrimage is spread out over three counties with the participation of about 80 temples. At 300 miles for a full trip, it takes about eight days to complete the trip. Traditional Taiwanese folk performances are common throughout the trip. The postcard is an official Postcrossing card, TW-1323621. Thanks Mio!

Postcard from Taiwan!
Today I got a nice postcard from Taiwan! The postcard shows a beautiful night view of Jiufen, also known as Chiufen, which is located in Taiwan. Jiufen is a mountain area near Keelung and the town was mostly isolated until the 19th century. From 1893 to 1971, the town was the location of a successful gold mine, which peaked before the Second World War. After the mine closed, however, the town went into decline. It is currently a tourist destination due to its nostalgic charm. The card is an official Postcrossing card, TW-1316686. Thanks Meg!
