Today I got a nice postcard from Switzerland! The postcard shows multiple views of the city of Bern, which is located in the Canton of Bern. It is the country's capital, also called the Bundesstadt. It has a population of nearly 140,000 people and its main language is Swiss German. Interestingly, a dialect called Bernese German is spoken here. Its historic part or old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The card is an official Postcrossing card, CH-216516. Thanks Annic!

Today I got a beautiful panoramic postcard from Switzerland! The panoramic postcard features a view of Montreux, which is located in the Vaud canton. It lies on Lake Geneva and is also located by the foot of the alps. With an area of about 34 square kilometres, it has a population of 25,000 people. Interestingly, almost half of these are resident foreign nationals. One of the popular residents was Freddie Mercury, the frontman for the band Queen. The card was sent by my dad who visited Montreux. Thanks Dad!

Today I got a beautiful postcard from Switzerland! The postcard shows a view of Château de Chillon, also known as Chillon Castle. It is an island castle located on the eastern part of Lake Geneva. It was referenced as early as the 11th to 12th century and is actually made up of multiple buildings that were gradually connected over time. It served as the residence of the Savoys and is currently open to the public as one of Switzerland's most visited historic sites. The card was sent by my dad who visited it. Thanks Dad!

Today I got a nice postcard from Switzerland! The postcard shows views of the city of Geneva. Geneva is the country's second most populous city and is its French-speaking center. It is mostly known for all the different international organizations it houses, such as the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the Red Cross. It has a population of almost 200,000 people and an area of 16 square kilometres. Seen on the card is the iconic Jet d'Eau. The card was sent by my dad who visited the city. Thanks Dad! 

Postcard from Switzerland!

Today I got a cool postcard from Switzerland! The postcard features a squadron of Swiss Air Force fighter jets with livery matching the red national flag of Switzerland. The Swiss Air Force was established in 1936 as a separate service and is headquartered in Dübendorf. Its main priority is the air defence of the country and its primary fighter planes are the F/A-18 Hornet and the F-5 Tiger. The force has 1,600 active duty personnel and its pilots are trained to carry out air operations from temporary air strips on highways. The card was published by the Swiss Post and features a preprinted stamp on the back. The card is an official Postcrossing card, CH-202974. Thanks Giedré!

Today I got a beautiful postcard from Switzerland! The card depicts a view of Lake Lauerz, which is located in the Canton of Schwyz. In the background, we see Grosser Mythen, a mountain with an elevation of 1,898 metres. Nice stamps were used, including a nice Europa car stamp! The card is an official Postcrossing card, CH-176792. Today I got a nice panoramic card from Switzerland! The card shows a great view of the Pennine Alps, which is a mountain range in the western parts of the Alps. Scene on the card are the following peaks: Zinal-Rothorn at 4223 metres, Matterhorn at 4478 metres, and Dent Blanche at 4364 metres. Thanks Carine!

Today I got a nice card from Switzerland! The card shows a great view of Zürich. It is the largest city in Switzerland, located in north-central Switzerland by Lake Zürich. It was originally settled many centuries ago by the Romans in 15 BC and it was called Turicum. It has been described as the city with the best quality of life in the world. Today I got a nice card from Switzerland! the card shows a beautiful view of The Matterhorn, also known as Monte Cervino. It is a mountain located on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Its summit is 4,478 meters high. Thanks Grace!
