Postcard from India!

Today I got a beautiful postcard from India! The card shows a nice view of the world-famous Taj Mahal in India, which was built by Shah Jahan as a tribute to his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Thanks Sita!

Sadly, the card was damaged on its way to me & it was packed by the Philippine Post in a plastic pouch for safe delivery. It appears to have gotten wet & torn during its journey. Enclosed was a letter, which I have translated below.

"To our beloved postal customer,

We are sad because of the damage of your letter or parcel. We received this from another country in this condition or state.

We know that this is very valuable to you and that you were expecting to receive it in good condition.

However, regardless of any precautions, damage cannot be avoided given the volume of letters or parcels and because of the new mechanical systems used by other countries.

These are done to speed up the delivery of letters to different parts of the world.

Rest assured that we will still do all we can and take every precaution in our capacity to avoid this from happening.

We hope you accept our apologies.

Yours truly,
