Postcard from Russia!
Today I got a nice postcard from Russia! The postcard shows a view of Lala Tulapan. Lala Tulapan is a mosque located in the city of Ufa, the capital of Bashkortostan. It features a modernist design by Wakil Davlyatshin. Its 53 metre tall minarets are the third highest in the country. It has a capacity of 1,000 people and it was finished in 1998. The card is an official Postcrossing card, RU-2977568. Thanks Boris!

Postcard from Russia!
Today I got a nice postcard from Russia! The postcard shows a view of the Qolşärif Mosque, which is located in Kazan Kremlin. The mosque was named after Qolşärif, who served in the mosque and was killed in the 16th century when he was defending Kazan from the Russians. It was thereafter destroyed by Ivan the Terrible. It was rebuilt with a modern style in 2005 with funding from many Muslim countries. It houses many facilities and functions mainly as a museum of Islam. Thanks Veronica!

Postcard from Hong Kong!
Today I got a nice postcard from Hong Kong! The postcard shows a street view of the Kowloon Mosque and Islamic Centre. The Kowloon Mosque is located next to Kowloon park and is the largest Islamic place of worship in Hong Kong. It has a capacity of 3,500 people and is one of the five principal mosques in the city. The original structure was built in 1896 and it features one dome and four minarets. A nice dinosaur stamp was used! Thanks Kate!

Postcard from Malaysia!
Today I got a nice postcard from Malaysia! The card features a street view of the Kapitan Keling Mosque. The mosque was built in the early 19th century in Georgetown, Penang and it started as an Indian Muslim Mosque. A nice polo stamp was used with a beautiful horse postmark! Thanks SL Liew!

Postcard from Singapore!
Today I got a great postcard from Singapore! The card shows nice views of different temples and mosques in Singapore. Of interest is the Masjid Sultan, which is the mosque on the upper right part of the card. It was created by Sultan Hussain Shah from 1824 to 1826 using funds from the East India Company. It is considered to be one of the most important mosques in Singapore. Nice stamps were used, including one featuring popular gadgets and celebrating 50 years of the television. Thanks Demi!

Postcard from Russia!
Today I got a nice card from Russia! The card shows a nice view of the Qolşärif Mosque, which is located in the Kazan Kremlin. When it was made, it was said to be the largest mosque in Europe outside of Istanbul. It has one dome and four minarets and was completed in 2005. Nice stamps were used! Thanks Galiya!

Postcard from Indonesia!
Today I got a nice card from Indonesia! The card shows a view of the Grand Mosque of Semarang, also known as the Great Mosque of Central Java (Masjid Agung Jawa Tengah). It was established in 2006 and occupies 10 hectares. It has a capacity for 15,000 people and its 6 distinctive folded umbrellas in the courtyard can be opened in order to protect worshippers when needed. Thanks Natascha!

Today I got a beautiful postcard from Malaysia! The card features a great view of the Putra Mosque. It is located in Putrajaya and it showcases Turkestan, Kazakhstan, and Moroccan design elements. It is located right next to the man-made Putrajaya lake. A cool museum stamp was used which needs to be heated up in order to reveal a hidden artifact! Thanks Aishah!

Postcard from Malaysia!
Today I got a nice postcard from Malaysia! The card shows a nice night view of the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, also known as the Iron Mosque. It got its name from the architectural wire mesh used in its construction. It is the second principal mosque in Putrajaya and it was completed in 2009. It can accomodate around 20,000 people for prayer. Thanks Cikgu!

Today I got a nice card from Brunei Darussalam! The card shows a nice view of the Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque. It was built to commemorate the 25th anniversary of His Majesty the Sultan's reign. It is the largest mosque in Brunei and it is located in Brunei's capital city, Bandar Seri Begawan. Thanks Ara!

Postcard from Turkey!
Today I got a great card from Turkey! The card shows a nice night view of the Sultanahmet Mosque, which is located in Istanbul. It is also known as the Blue Mosque because of the blue tiles in its interior. It was built during the reign of Ahmed I. The historic areas of Istanbul were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Thanks Onder!

Today I got a great card from Turkey! The card shows a nice view of Hagia Sophia, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built in 537 and was originally a Greek Orthodox patriarchal basilica until it became an imperial mosque in 1453 due to the invasion of the Ottoman Turks. It then inspired the design of many mosques. In 1931 it was secularized and turned into a museum. Thanks Ezgi!

Today I got a nice card from Spain! The card shows an interior view of La Mezquita, also known as the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba in Andalusia. It was once a medieval Islamic mosque until it was turned into a Catholic Cathedral. It is considered as one of the best achievements of Moorish architecture. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today I got a nice postcard from Bahrain! Bahrain, which is officially called the Kingdom of Bahrain, is an island country located in the Persian Gulf. The current king of Bahrain is Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The country is also known for hosting one of the Formula 1 events. Postcard from Japan!
Today I got an interesting postcard of the Tokyo Jami, a Turkish mosque located in Shibuya-Ku in Tokyo. The sender says this is the biggest and the most beautiful one in Japan. It was sent by Natascha, who was an exchange student in Tokyo and who is from Indonesia. Thanks Natascha!
