Postcard from Slovenia!
Today I got a nice postcard from Slovenia! The postcard shows multiple views of the city of Ljubljana, the capital city of the country. Known as the dragon city, it occupies an area of about 164 square kilometres and has the Ljubljanica River running through it. The historic city has some architecture left from the Roman times and from the Middle Ages. Its strategic location within the country has helped it become the center not only of power, but also of commerce, industry, science, and others. Thanks Tanya!

Postcard from Slovenia!
Today I got a cool postcard from Slovenia! The postcard shows a view of the unique Velika Planina. It is a high-altitude settlement of herders located in the Big Pasture plateau. It is in the Kamnik Alps in the Upper Carniola region. Its distinctive huts are made from wood and have only a single room and an oval roof that almost reaches the ground. They are usually occupied during the summer months. During the winter, the area attracts tourists for skiing. Thanks Sara!

Cover & Stamp from Slovenia!
Today I got a nice cover and stamp from Slovenia! The stamp is a joint issue by Slovenia and Austria and was issued in 2013. It features the underground post office at Postojna Cave. Postojna Cave is said to be Europe's most famous cave, with over 500,000 visitors annually. The underground post office in the cave, the first of its kind, was opened in 1899 due to the increase in tourism. Thousands of postcards were sent from this post office, which continued to operate through the first world war. The cave has so far had 35 million visitors, including 150 monarchs. Thanks Borut!

Postcard from Slovenia!
Today I got a nice postcard from Slovenia! The postcard shows a view of Vipava Valley. It is a valley in the Slovenian Littoral near the border with Italy. It is a narrow valley that connects the Friulian lowlands to central Slovenia. This also makes it one of the passages from Italy to mainland Europe. Its main center is the town of Ajdovščina. Its climate makes it a suitable place to grow fruits and make wine. Thanks Enzo!

Postcard from Slovenia!
Today I got a beautiful postcard from Slovenia! The postcard shows a majestic aerial view of Bohinj, also known as the Bohinj Basin. It is a 20 kilometre long basin located within the Julian Alps. Its main feature, which is seen on the card, is Bohinj Lake, which is periglacial. The name Bohinj was taken from the name of a village, although the origin of the word itself is still unknown. Thanks Tina!
