Postcard from Pakistan!

Today I got a nice postcard from Pakistan! The postcard shows the Tombs of the Abbasi Family, which is located near the Derawar Fort in the province of Punjab. The Abbasi family is a very prominent Islamic Arabic family. The Abbasid Caliphate was the third Islamic caliphate. The capital was in Baghdad and it overthrew the preceding Umayyad Caliphate. Postcard from Pakistan!

Today I got a beautiful postcard from Pakistan! The postcard shows a nice view of Rakaposhi, a spectacular mountain in the Karakoram mountain range in Pakistan. Its name translates to "snow covered" but it is also called Dumani or "Mother of Mist." It is currently the 27th highest in the world but it is known more for its beauty. It was first climbed in 1958 by a British-Pakistani team. Nice stamps were used! Thanks Patrick!
