Today I got a beautiful postcard from the Maldives! The card shows a view of an atoll in the Maldives. The country is made up of a number of natural atolls along with some islands. An atoll is a ring-shaped coral reef that typically encompasses a lagoon. The word atoll actually derives its origin from a Maldivian word, atholhu. A nice stamp feautring a dolphin was used! Thanks Tian!

Postcard from the Maldives!
Today I got a nice card from the Maldives! The card shows a view of Angaga in Southern Ari Atoll. The Ari Atoll is one of the biggest natural atolls of Maldives. It is popular among tourists and many of its islands have excellent tourists resorts. The most popular tourist activity is scuba diving. Maldives, officially known as the Republic of the Maldives, is an island country in the Indian Ocean. It consists of twenty-six atolls. It is the smallest Asian country, both in terms of area and population. It is also the world's physically lowest country, with an average elevation of 1.5 metres over sea level. Thanks Kun!
