Postcard from the Maldives!

Today I got a beautiful postcard from the Maldives! The card shows a view of an atoll in the Maldives. The country is made up of a number of natural atolls along with some islands. An atoll is a ring-shaped coral reef that typically encompasses a lagoon. The word atoll actually derives its origin from a Maldivian word, atholhu. A nice stamp feautring a dolphin was used!
