Postcard from Russia!

Today I got a nice postcard from Russia! The square postcard features an aerial view of Sarychev Peak. Sarychev Peak is a stratovolcano located in Matua Island in the Kuril Islands of Russia. With an elevation of nearly 1,500 metres, it covers most of the said island. On June 12, 2009, the volcano erupted and cause disruptions among air routes in the area. This picture shows the view of the eruption from the International Space Station, which was passing overhead. Nice stamps were used! Thanks Larisa!
