Postcard from Iceland!

Today I got a beautiful panoramic postcard from Iceland! The card shows a view of the quiet Mývatn lake, which is located in the northern part of the country. The lake was created due to volcanic eruption 2,300 years ago. It is situated in a particularly volcanic area near Krafla Volcano. It is home to a lot of waterbirds and other similar fauna. The name of the lake translates to the lake of midges. It got its name because of the high number of midges found in the area. Thanks Rebekka!
