Today I got a nice postcard from Singapore! The card shows a view of Merlion Park in the country's central business district, a famous tourist spot. A Merlion is a creature with a lion's head and the body of a fish. It is used as the symbol of Singapore. The fish body represents Singapore's past as a fishing village. The lion represents the original name of Singapore, Singapura, which mean's "lion city." A stamp featuring a vanishing trade, being a Cobbler, was used! Thanks Jiayun!
