Postcard from Taiwan!

Today I got a nice postcard from Taiwan! The postcard shows a beautiful night view of Jiufen, also known as Chiufen, which is located in Taiwan. Jiufen is a mountain area near Keelung and the town was mostly isolated until the 19th century. From 1893 to 1971, the town was the location of a successful gold mine, which peaked before the Second World War. After the mine closed, however, the town went into decline. It is currently a tourist destination due to its nostalgic charm. The card is an official Postcrossing card, TW-1316686. Thanks Meg!
