Today I got a nice postcard from Thailand! The postcard features a view of Wat Ton Kwain, a temple in Chiang Mai that is considered by some to be one of the most beautiful in the country. Chiang Mai is known as the most important city in northern Thailand. It was once the Kingdom of Chiang Mai and was also once the capital of the Kingdom of Lanna. It covers an area of about 40 square kilometres and has a population of almost 150,000 people. It is a popular tourist destination, attracting almost 2 million foreign tourists annually. Thanks Ann!
